Company Overview
The Virginia Property Insurance Association provides essential property insurance for individuals and businesses who are not able to secure coverage through the voluntary market. We insure over 25,000 risks throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia with over $3.4 Billion of insured values. The company has seventeen employees and writes polices for nearly 1,500 agencies. The Association’s office is located in Glen Allen, VA. Our staff provides underwriting, accounting and data processing services. Our claims are administered by Equity Claims Services, Inc. Equity has four examiners who work out of our Glen Allen office.
Company History
The Virginia Property Insurance Association is the FAIR Plan in Virginia. The company was started in 1968 as the Virginia Insurance Placement Facility. The Placement Facility was an assinged risk program. In 1976, the company began operating as a syndicate and changed its name to the Virginia Property Insurance Association.
